Students of the Department of Applied Mathematics at the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Fundamental Sciences of Lviv Polytechnic, Maria Ostrovska, Yaroslav Sobko, and Oleksii Saichuk, have started their studies at the University of L’Aquila, Italy, under a dual degree program. They have the opportunity to spend two semesters at a prestigious Italian university and, in addition to a Ukrainian master's degree in Applied Mathematics obtain an Italian master's degree in Mathematical Engineering.
Maria is currently in Italy, while her male colleagues have been provided with conditions for online studies by their Italian partners. During two years, the students will take highly engaging courses such as Dynamic Systems and Bifurcation Theory, Numerical Convex Optimization, Time Series and Prediction, Real and Functional Analysis, and will defend their master's theses. They will acquire extensive knowledge and new skills in applied mathematics and mathematical engineering, which will be invaluable for their future careers.
